Presidents of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan hold telephone conversation

The Presidents of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan held a telephone conversation in which they mentioned the situation in Karakalpakstan, with reference to the press service of Akorda.

The sides discussed issues on the bilateral and regional agenda, including maintaining stability in Karakalpakstan.

“Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted the timeliness of the decisions taken by the Uzbek leadership to ensure stability in Karakalpakstan.

The President of Kazakhstan also wished Shavkat Mirziyoyev success in holding a referendum on amending the Constitution, stressing that this event will be an important moment in the implementation of the program of large-scale political and socio-economic transformations in fraternal Uzbekistan," the press service said.

The Presidents also discussed the upcoming Consultative Meeting of Central Asian Leaders to be held in Kyrgyzstan.
