Kazakhstan takes 4th place in world in terms of effectiveness of tuberculosis treatment
In terms of the effectiveness of tuberculosis treatment, Kazakhstan is among the 4 leading countries in the world. This was stated by the Minister of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan Azhar Giniyat, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Health.
The Minister of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan thanked for the active cooperation of international partners - WHO, STOP TB Partnership, Global Fund, USAID, Harvard Medical School, Hope Project, KNCV.
Azhar Giniyat stressed that a significant improvement in all epidemiological indicators for tuberculosis has been achieved through the introduction of the latest world methods of detection, diagnosis, treatment of tuberculosis in the country, centralized provision of anti-tuberculosis drugs.
Over the past 20 years, the incidence of tuberculosis in Kazakhstan has decreased by 4.2 times, mortality - by 15.5 times, the incidence rate of tuberculosis in children under 15 years old - by 10 times.
