Kazakhstan intends to increase REC capacity by 1.5 times

The management of Samruk-Kazyna took part in a meeting with a delegation of one of the Saudi energy companies in Nur-Sultan. Representatives of the Ministry of Energy and the AIFC also participated in the negotiations, El.kz reports with reference to the Samruk-Kazyna telegram channel.

The parties substantively discussed promising investment projects in Kazakhstan. In particular, Samruk-Kazyna is considering the possibility of creating 1 GW of new renewable energy capacities in partnership with one of the world leaders in this field. This will increase the total capacity of renewable energy facilities in our country by almost 50%.

The arrival of the company's delegation to Nur-Sultan was the result of the agreements reached following the recent visit of the President of Kazakhstan to Saudi Arabia. At the same time, the head of Samruk-Kazyna called on Saudi business to cooperate with Kazakhstan and participate in the privatization of the Fund's group companies, including the IPO of KazMunayGas.
