Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed the government and akims to create centers for providing comprehensive assistance to women and children throughout the country, El.kz reports.

The President noted that the protection of women and children from violence is one of the priority tasks of the state. The Ministry of Internal Affairs has restored the staff of special units to protect women and children from violence. This year, centers for comprehensive assistance to women and children have been established. Currently, the centers are operating in pilot mode.

"Psychological, legal and medical assistance to victims of violence is provided here, as well as relevant expertise is carried out. The work of these centers is effective. It is therefore necessary to create them throughout the country with maximum coverage for needy people of assistance. I instruct this to the government and akims," Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said at solemn meeting dated to 30th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s police.

Tokayev also pointed that the work of the police is a dangerous profession, often associated with a risk to their life and health. Over the years of independence, 815 employees were killed in the line of duty, more than four and a half thousand were injured. Therefore, the contribution of the internal affairs bodies to ensuring the security and stability of our society cannot be overestimated.

The President noted that the image of a Kazakhstani policeman should express patriotism and honesty, openness and readiness to always come to people's aid. This requires fundamental changes in the thinking of all the law enforcement officers.
