Organizer of the annual event was the public association "Russian community of Akmola region" with the support of APK, "Kogamdyk kelisim" MPI together with Municipal Mayor’s Office and the Orthodox Diocese of Akmola region.

Bishop of Kokshetau and Akmola diocese Serapion held a solemn ceremony of consecration of the Jordan, the "procession" around the font, after which residents and guests of the city were able to plunge into the sacred water.

According to the chairman of "Russian community of Akmola region" NGO that day became a kind of traditional city holiday, in which, representatives of other nationalities came to participate with the Orthodox ones.

It was possible to see a lot of young people on the beach who came to test themselves for the first time. Hot tea was organized for all comers.

"Over the years, "Russian Community of Akmola region" has been holding the event for more than six years, we have become friends with rescuers - Ministry of Emergency Situations, ambulance staff, prepared for rescue work and round-the-clock duty. Fortunately, during this time there was not a single case of medical care. If a person was able to overcome his or her self-completion by going into cold water to get rid of sinful thoughts, then he or she would be able to overcome bad habits such as drinking and drug use. I would like to express my gratitude to the Mayor’s Office of Kokshetau for the support in the organization "Lord's Epiphany" said Alexander Alexandrovich.

According to Elena Kalitskaya, who came with her family from Karagash village of North Kazakhstan region to celebrate the holiday, a man washes away all his sins on this day, is sanctified by his soul and body, receives God's blessing.

A solemn festive service took place on the same day in the Michael-Arkhangelsk Cathedral of Kokshetau, and within three days, from January 18 to January 20, believers and all comers were able to take the water consecrated in the temple.

By the way, last year more than 5 thousand people bathed in Kokshetau lake.

Traditionally, it is believed that this night the water in all springs becomes healing.
