Kazakh PM discusses new partnership strategy 2023-2027 with Asian Development Bank Board of Directors member

Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov held a meeting with members of the Board of Directors of the Asian Development Bank chaired by Executive Director Sergio Lugaresi, El.kz cites primeminister.kz.

The parties discussed the development of a new ADB Country Partnership Strategy for Kazakhstan for 2023-2027, the principles of the new economic policy of the Government of Kazakhstan, as well as current issues of the regional agenda.

The Prime Minister noted that Kazakhstan has entered a new period of political development and economic transformation, which implies the implementation of measures to diversify the economy, reforms in public administration and comprehensive development of human capital.

In addition, the Government continues to work on increasing the investment attractiveness of the country, improving the fiscal policy and decarbonization of the economy.

"The implementation of the main priorities of the country will allow to overcome the difficulties of the current stage and to enter the trajectory of sustainable and qualitative economic growth," Alikhan Smailov emphasized.

At the same time, he noted that the fundamental document of cooperation between Kazakhstan and the ADB will be the new Country Partnership Strategy, which will contribute to the achievement of development goals of the republic.

Sergio Lugaresi, in turn, confirmed the readiness of the Bank to continue its active work with the Government of Kazakhstan in all areas of interest.

"I am sure that our productive interaction will allow us to effectively implement all the planned tasks," Sergio Lugaresi said.
