The congratulation of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on the National Press Day was published by Akorda, El.kz reports.
"Dear print media workers!
From the bottom of my heart, I congratulate you on the National Press Day!
On this day in 1913 the first issue of Qazaq newspaper, which stood at the origins of national printed mass media industry, was published. The publication, issued by the outstanding sons of our people, the Alash movement, played a huge role in the consolidation of the nation in a critical period of history.
Remaining committed to the ideals of freedom of speech, the country's print media is still a sought-after source of reliable, objective information and high-quality analysis. Newspapers and magazines raise pressing problems of the state and society, reflect a wide range of opinions, and promote fundamental human values.
Journalists of print media maintain high standards of the profession, show an example of active patriotism and civic responsibility. I am confident that domestic print media will continue to contribute to strengthening the unity of our people, making a significant contribution to building a Just Kazakhstan.
I wish you all health, prosperity and creative success!"
