Repatriates can submit the documents at the same time
It is true that problems that arise among the repatriates who have moved to their historical homeland are due to the fact that they do not fully understand the requirements of the migration process. The legislation governing the migration process also changes over time.
At this case, “Otandastar Fund” JSC will try to inform its compatriots as much as possible in the event of changes in existing legislation and regulations or the standards of service of the authorities in relation to our repatriates.
As you know, after coming to the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan and obtaining a permanent residence permit, ethnic Kazakhs would issue a residence permit of a foreign citizen and then apply for the citizenship of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Before the decision on citizenship of the Republic of Kazakhstan, all this process takes more than five months.
And starting from this year, our repatriates will be able to apply for a permanent residence permit and citizenship of the Republic of Kazakhstan at the same time. An order of the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated August 27, 2020 № 599 came into force on January 1, 2021.
According to the document, the citizens without permanent registration in Kazakhstan can simultaneously apply to the regional, city or district migration service in order to obtain a permanent residence permit and apply for the citizenship of the Republic of Kazakhstan in a simplified manner. Accordingly, the decision on obtaining a permanent residence permit and citizenship will be made within three months.
If our repatriates want to get a regional quota, they can apply for a residence permit of a foreign citizen first, in accordance with the previous legislation, without immediately applying for the citizenship of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The repatriates with a permit are not citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan, so the right to a regional quota is not restricted for them.
