Best cosplay at international Comic Con Astana received 3.5 million tenge
The Comic Con Astana, an international festival dedicated to the industry of comics, cinema, video games, anime and other areas of modern popular culture, held on September 15-17 in the capital of Kazakhstan, has ended, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the festival.
Comic Con Astana, one of the world's most famous culture festivals, was held in Kazakhstan for the second time. One of the key events of Comic Con Astana was the competition of professional cosplayers with a total prize fund of 10,000,000 tenge. Cosplay teams from more than 5 countries took part in it.
The Grand Prix of the competition of 3.5 million tenge was awarded to a 23-year-old artisan with the nickname Keller for cosplaying the character Harima from Raid Shadow Legends.
The prize of 1.6 million tenge for the first place was awarded to a cosplayer, a 28-year-old student with the nickname Isabelka for the embodiment of the character Lilith from Diablo.
The second place and 1 million tenge went to Tais Tukanova, a 29-year-old Almaty resident for the character of Freya, the Valkyrie queen from God of War Ragnarok.
The third place and 700 thousand tenge was awarded to a cosplayer with the nickname Reddisson, a 20-year-old art school teacher from Almaty, for embodying the image of Aloy from Horizon: Forbidden west.
In addition, during the 3 days of Comic Con Astana, many meetings and events took place at several venues. Meetings with celebrities were bright and memorable. The headliners of this year's Comic Con are the stars of "Guardians of the Galaxy" Sean Gunn and Michael Rooker, as well as the actor from the film "Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore" Alexander Kuznetsov.
Another traditional territory for Comic Con was very popular - the Alley of Authors with a fair, where artists and creators of comics presented their work and could personally communicate with fans. Here, guests of the festival could buy fanarts and doujinshi - alternative sequels of popular stories from artists from the Alley of Authors, learn about fresh trends and get advice from a professional. More than 150 authors from around the world took part.
A novelty of this year was the integration of the thematic exhibition area Pop Asia, dedicated to Asian pop culture, which includes anime, Asian comics - manga, manhwa and manhua, musical culture K-Pop, J-Pop and the Kazakh version - Q-pop, dramas and many other areas. Among the special guests was the bright and talented musician and singer Jackie-O, who performs anime openings, K-pop songs, soundtracks from films and video games, as well as his own songs.
For fans of video games, as well as their creators, there was an interactive zone for techno-geeks. A variety of content from game manufacturers is presented on this territory, meetings with eminent masters, tests of new products and workshops were held.
