Astana to host forum on development of new media- Darkhan Kydyrali
At the Internet forum "Qazaq Forum" - a forum of online content creators, Minister of Information and Social Development Darkhan Kydyrali said that a meeting would be held that would give impetus to the development of new media, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
"Taking into account the latest trends in the world, we intend to intensify work on the development of new digital media and the creative industry," the minister said.
The minister also mentioned that there is an agreement with Meta, TikTok, Google, Mail.Ru Group, LinkedIn, close relations have been established with them.
As a result of the negotiations, official representatives of Meta in Kazakhstan were identified: Instagram, Whatsapp, Facebook, Messenger. A regional office of TikTok Corporation was also opened. Agreements have been concluded to update the interface of Facebook and TikTok.
"We will work with TikTok to identify the use of the platform by children under the age of 13 and harmful content. All this imposes a great responsibility on us," Darkhan Kydyrali said.
