On the sidelines of the VII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, the Head of State held a meeting with Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Russia Ravil Gainutdin and Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Tatarstan Kamil Samigullin, El.kz reports with reference to Akorda.
The President expressed gratitude to them for their active assistance in promoting the high goals and objectives of the Congress.
The Head of State warmly recalled his visit to Tatarstan in February this year, and also congratulated the interlocutors on the 1100th anniversary of the adoption of Islam by Volga Bulgaria. According to him, this historic event has the great importance for the Muslim Ummah of Tatarstan and the entire multi-confessional people of Russia.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stressed that the VII Congress is taking place in a difficult time, and pointed out the importance of strengthening interfaith dialogue for the consolidation of the international community.
Ravil Gainutdinov and Kamil Samigullin expressed gratitude to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for the opportunity to meet and highly appreciated the level of organization of the VII Congress.
