Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament Maulen Ashimbayev held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Israel to Kazakhstan Edwin Yabo Glusman, during which the parties discussed issues of further strengthening cooperation and expanding partnership between the countries, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The Speaker of the Senate congratulated the people of Israel on the 75th anniversary of the country's Independence and noted that Kazakhstan and Israel are linked by multifaceted and strong partnership relations based on friendship and mutual trust.
"Kazakhstan considers Israel as an important partner in the development of the "dialogue of civilizations" and ensuring intercultural rapprochement of the people of the world. We are grateful to the Chief Sephardic Rabbi of Israel Yitzhak Yosef and the Chief Ashkenazi Rabbi of Israel David Lau for their active participation in the VII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions. The work of the Congress is aimed at promoting peace and harmony between peoples, developing interreligious dialogue and strengthening moral values in the modern world," Maulen Ashimbayev said.
The Chairman of the Senate focused the interlocutor's attention on the results of large-scale political modernization, implemented in the country at the initiative of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
In turn, the Ambassador highly appreciated the socio-political transformations carried out in Kazakhstan and expressed interest in expanding cooperation in all areas. The parties also noted the importance of strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation.
