Within the framework of the Vienna Document of 2011 on confidence- and security-building measures, the opening of events took place in Astana with a subsequent visit to the air base and the airborne assault brigade in Taldykorgan, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
They were attended by the heads of the verification centers of the member states of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, representatives of the Conflict Prevention Center of the OSCE Secretariat in Vienna (Austria), the OSCE Program Office in Astana, and military experts.
Colonel Kanat Aubakirov, Head of the Arms Control and Inspection Center of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan, expressed gratitude to the OSCE Programme Office in Astana for fruitful co-operation and support.
"Kazakhstan has been and remains a consistent and active participant in international cooperation in the field of arms control and non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction," he stressed.
