First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kairat Umarov met with USAID Deputy Administrator Isobel Coleman, El.kz cites MFA.
During the meeting, the parties have discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation between Kazakhstan and USAID, issues on implementing priority programs and projects.
Coleman has expressed the readiness to contribute to projects in support of the implementation of political and socio-economic reforms of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. She confirmed the commitment of the U.S. side to continue assisting in the restoration of the Aral Sea, effective management of water resources as well as in the climate change mitigation.
The parties also have agreed to intensify cooperation between KazAID and USAID.
