The President of Kazakhstan met with Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, El.kz reports with reference to Akorda.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed gratitude for the hospitality and noting his contribution to strengthening relations between the two countries.
Tokayev stressed the importance of Kazakh-Turkmen cooperation, which is developing in the spirit of friendship and mutual assistance. According to him, the strategic partnership with Turkmenistan is a priority for Kazakhstan, and the official visit is aimed at bringing bilateral relations to a new level.
"We approach cooperation with Turkmenistan with great responsibility. Interaction with your country is a priority for us," Tokayev said.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence that the agreements reached during the visit will further strengthen cooperation between the two countries. During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on political, economic and cultural issues.
