National referendum on the construction of a nuclear power plant will be a landmark event for the country, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said addressing the republican forum of deputies of maslikhats of all levels, El.kz reports citing Akorda.
"We must use our competitive advantages. If people vote for the construction this project will be the largest in the history of Independent Kazakhstan," Tokayev stressed.
The President also noted that the construction of the nuclear power plant is a long-term project that will ensure the sustainable development of the country for decades to come. This project will give impetus to the development of the economy, science, education and create many jobs for engineers and specialists in various fields.
