Kazakhstan's trade turnover with Russia continues to increase

For the first half of 2022, the volume of trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Russia reached $ 11.6 billion. The real growth compared to the same period last year was 5%. At the same time, the share of the Russian Federation in the total trade turnover of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the year decreased from 23.7% to 18.3%, El.kz reports with reference to ranking.kz. 

Exports from Kazakhstan to Russia account for only 29.1% of the trade turnover with the Russian Federation. Thus, the volume of exports in January-June 2022 amounted to $ 3.4 billion, real growth is 0.5%.

In turn, imports from Russia to Kazakhstan for the year increased by 7%, to 8.3 billion dollars. Russia's share of Kazakhstan's total imports for the year decreased, while it still amounts to an impressive 38.5%.

Most of all, products of inorganic chemistry, inorganic or organic compounds of precious metals, radioactive elements or isotopes were exported from Kazakhstan to the Russian Federation in January-June 2022: 448.8 thousand tons worth $ 574.7 million. Next are flat products made of iron, unalloyed and alloyed, stainless steel in the amount of $ 400.3 million, as well as iron ores and concentrates, including baked pyrite, worth $217.3 million.

From the Russian Federation to the Republic of Kazakhstan in January-June 2022, bars made of iron, unalloyed and alloyed, stainless steel were imported most of all: 333.3 thousand tons worth $ 261.8 million. Next are pipes made of ferrous metals, including cast iron (159.1 thousand tons worth $ 202.8 million), as well as flat products made of iron, unalloyed and alloyed, stainless steel (133.9 thousand tons worth $ 159.8 million).
