Minister of Industry and Infrastructural Development Marat Karabayev reported that in the territory of the Republic there are 8 road transit corridors with a total length of about 13 thousand km.
At present the following routes are under reconstruction: highway Almaty - Taldykorgan - Ust-Kamenogorsk - Shemonaikha - RF border (768 km), Aktobe - Atyrau - Russian Federation border (746 km), Maykapshagai - Kalbatau - Semey - Pavlodar - Russian Federation border (415 km) and Almaty - Astana - Petropavlovsk - Russian Federation border (31 km).
By 2030 it is planned to upgrade the corridors "Western Europe - Western China" (1,363 km) and "Astana - Kostanay - Russian Federation (830 km) and lines "Atyrau - Uralsk - Russian Federation (587 km)" under the first technical category.
The Prime Minister stressed that it is necessary to intensify the development of logistics in the direction of Russia and China, as well as the Trans-Caspian international transport route, synchronizing this work with the authorized government agencies of neighboring countries.
According to him, this approach will quickly eliminate "bottlenecks" at the junction of roads between the states and, consequently, significantly increase cargo turnover.
"It is necessary to increase the capacity of international road and other logistics corridors. Give impetus to all this work. In parallel, the modernization of crossing points also requires close attention," Alikhan Smailov said.
Following the results of the meeting, the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan gave specific working orders.
