Kazakhstan declares October 29 National Mourning Day

Kazakhstan declared the National Mourning Day on October 29 due to accident occurred in the mine of Kostenko in Karaganda region.

According to the information provided by the Ministry of Emergency Situations, as of 15:00, the bodies of 28 dead miners were found, the fate of another 18 miners is unknown.

A special government commission is working in the region.

By decree of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, October 29 was declared a Day of National Mourning.

At the same time, the President instructed the Government to terminate investment cooperation with AMT. Currently, the registration of the transaction on the transfer of AMT's ownership of the state is being completed.
