President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a telephone conversation with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, El.kz reports with reference to Akorda.
During the conversation, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that the high result in the elections is a confirmation of popular support for Ilham Aliyev's strategic course.
According to Tokayev, Aliyev's course is aimed at strengthening the statehood of Azerbaijan, ensuring the socio-economic well-being of the population and increasing the international authority of the country.
The President of Kazakhstan also expressed his best wishes to Ilham Aliyev for the successful implementation of all plans aimed at the prosperity and progress of the Azerbaijani people.
In his turn, Ilham Aliyev expressed gratitude for the congratulations and stressed the unwavering commitment to deepening cooperation with Kazakhstan on the basis of centuries-old friendship, strategic partnership and alliance between the two countries.
