Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov held a regular meeting of the Commission on Demonopolization of the economy with the participation of the leadership of central state bodies, the Prosecutor General's Office, Agency for Protection and Development of Competition of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Financial Monitoring Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan and other departments, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The participants discussed the progress of returning important infrastructure facilities of the oil and gas industry to state ownership, measures to exclude artificial monopolies in the rail freight market and mechanisms for increasing the responsibility of grain transportation market entities.
The Prime Minister noted the importance of accelerating the procedures for the initiated cases and the pace of demonopolization of key sectors of the economy as a whole in order to achieve concrete economic results in the foreseeable future.
