During the XI Congress of Financiers of Kazakhstan, which was held in Almaty, the National Bank of Kazakhstan successfully launched a pilot project on the introduction of the national digital currency - "Digital Tenge", El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the National Bank.
The pilot launch of the national digital currency involved the participation of second-tier banks and their customers. With the Digital Tenge platform, bank customers can easily make transactions through digital accounts in the mobile applications of their banks.
"In addition to the functionality for making payments and transferring money between digital accounts, a service for the use of "digital vouchers" is also available, implemented jointly with the Akimat of Almaty to automate settlements within the framework of social support measures using smart contract technology" the press service reads.
