Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan Zulfiya Suleimenova met with CICA Secretary General Kairat Sarybay. The parties discussed the holding in 2024 in Astana of the High-Level Conference on Environmental Problems in the Countries of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA), El.kz reports.
The Minister proposed to discuss climate change, water security, air pollution, as well as food security within the framework of the upcoming Conference.
The results of this Conference can become the basis for the establishment of the CICA Council on Cooperation in the Field of Ecology.
At the same time, the head of the department noted that natural resources have a positive effect on the development of the country's economy. It is possible to achieve the right attitude to the environment only in a balance between economic growth and the environmental component, the press service of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports.
