Issues of further strengthening the expanded strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and Japan were discussed during the meeting of Deputy Foreign Minister Kanata Tumysh with Japanese Ambassador Jun Yamada, El.kz news agency reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.
The parties noted the main achievements over the 30-year period of establishing diplomatic relations, as well as prospects for further cooperation.
Karat Tumysh discussed with the interlocutor topical issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation and expressed readiness to implement joint activities in the political, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres. The Kazakh diplomat noted the importance of further development of political dialogue at the highest and high levels between Astana and Tokyo.
The sides noted with satisfaction the growth of trade turnover between the countries in 2022 and expressed interest in developing cooperation in the fields of environmental protection, transport and logistics, digitalization and other areas.
In turn, the Japanese diplomat expressed readiness to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries and expressed hope for the restoration of trade, economic and investment cooperation in the post-pandemic period.
