Amir Omarkhanov became the absolute champion of the ITF Juniors tournament in Georgia, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the FTC.
The ITF Juniors J60 tournament among players under 18 has ended in Tbilisi. A pupil of the tennis school in the city of Karaganda, 15-year-old Amir Omarkhanov, who is currently training at one of the best tennis academies in the Czech Republic, won the tournament in both singles and doubles.
In the singles final, Amir confidently beat Azerbaijani Kanan Gasimov with a score of 6:1, 6:3.
In the decisive match for the doubles title, Amir and Bulgarian Ivan Naydenov beat the Kazakh pair of Ilyas Maratula/Vitaly Zatsepin - 6:3, 6:4. Thus, Omarkhanov won his fifth trophy under the auspices of the ITF Juniors, two of which are in singles. Thanks to the success in the capital of Georgia, the Kazakhstani climbed to 298th place in the updated junior world ranking.
