Additional channels for supply of Kazakh goods to Qatar to be created

The sixth meeting of the Kazakh-Qatari high-level joint commission was held on October 3 with the participation of Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Serik Zhumangarin and Minister of Trade and Industry of Qatar Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qasim Al Thani, who are co-chairs of the commission, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The participants expressed their readiness to contribute to the achievement of the following goals: the creation of additional channels for the supply of Kazakh goods to Qatar, strengthening cooperation between the business community of both countries and increasing the turnover of goods between them. In addition, Serik Zhumangarin proposed to intensify cooperation between the parties in other industries.

"Kazakh producers of meat and other food products express interest in exporting goods to the Qatari market. In this regard, I believe it is expedient to speed up the procedures for the coordination of Halal certificates between our countries. In addition, we are ready to supply the premium segment of food products, such as: caviar, fish, honey and others. There is also a significant potential for cooperation in the energy sector between our countries," Serik Zhumangarin said.

Following the results of the 6th meeting of the intergovernmental commission, the parties signed a protocol in which they expressed their intentions to intensify ties between Kazakh and Qatari businesses for mutual investments.
