1st neonatal surgery department opened in Shymkent

The first-ever neonatal regional surgery department opened in Shymkent, El.kz reports with reference to the Ministry of Health.

The  department is staffed by a neonatal surgeon, an anesthesiologist-resuscitator and a neonatologist-resuscitator. Since the opening, doctors saved the lives of about 40 babies.

In Shymkent, the infant mortality rate in the first nine months of 2024 decreased by 30%.

In accordance with the instructions of the Head of State mother and child health protection remains a top priority for the healthcare system.
